I was going through a divorce with my now ex-husband, who suffers from substance abuse. It was written in our provisional order that neither parent was allowed to consume alcohol during their parenting time while staying with our children in the house (we each had 1/2 the week at home with them). He violated those terms, so my attorney suggested Soberlink as an alternative to him not seeing the children at all.
He was still able to spend time with them while giving me, and eventually the kids, reassurance that he wouldn't be drinking. He continued with it after the divorce and has since been able to quit drinking altogether.
