I was not mandated to use Soberlink, but during a nasty custody process with my son's mother (3 DUIs), my attorneys and I asked she be subjected to Soberlink when with our son. Just to make a point, she requested I use Soberlink while with our son as well. I am an occasional drinker but happily agreed to use the system. After my time using Soberlink, I have noticed the desire to drink doesn't come up at all when my son is staying with me. I have 50/50 custody, so although I have never had a problem with alcohol, I'm glad I can totally abstain from alcohol when I have my son.
